Using the cartridge beyond its recommended lifespan may result in the following risks:
– Bacteria and mold growth: Over time, impurities accumulate, causing dirt and bacteria to remain in filtered water instead of being completely removed.
– Decreased filtration efficiency: Impurities block filtration process, reducing flow of water through 5 layers, which leads to a lower quantity of clean water.
– Shortened pitcher lifespan: Prolonged use of an expired cartridge may disrupt stability of pitcher’s components, affecting its functionality.
If not used for 14 days or more, follow Mitsubishi Cleansui’s guidelines to properly store EJC2 alkaline cartridge:
– Remove the cartridge, turn it upside down and shake vigorously to remove excess water.
– Wrap tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil to prevent contact with other objects.
– Store in the refrigerator (between 5-12°C) to limit bacterial growth.

EJC2 alkaline cartridge utilizes advanced 5-stage filtration technology, with one key layer being calcium carbonate (CaCO3). When acidic water comes into contact with this layer, a chemical reaction occurs, raising pH and making water more alkaline. This simple but effective process ensures that filtered water is both clean and alkaline.
